Emergence

BIG ISLAND OF HAWAI‘I

Five days in Hawai'i. No WiFi, no agenda, no performing. Just you, the land, and a small group of people who came for the same reason.

A place to return to a more natural you.

You're not burned out because you're weak. You're burned out because you haven't stopped.

You've been managing everything — your work, your relationships, your image, your inbox. And somewhere in all of that, you lost track of what you actually feel like when no one needs anything from you.

Emergence is five days on the Big Island of Hawai'i designed to give you that back. Not through a program. Through presence, land, real food, and people who get it.

The experience

Reverence

Start your mornings differently. Each day opens with a guided session led by Vanessa Stone — a space to slow down, get honest with yourself, and ask the questions you've been too busy to sit with. No agenda. No performance. Just you, showing up.

Connection

Put your phone away. Actually away. Emergence is fully unplugged. What happens when you're not reachable is the point — you find out who you are when no one's watching.

Play

You forgot how good it feels to make something with your hands. Nature art, movement, creative play with Devin Longfellow. This isn't filler between the serious stuff — it's the serious stuff. Joy is part of the work.

NOURISH

Food that makes you feel good. Over 70% of what you eat was grown within a few miles of where you're sitting. Three meals a day, plus snacks and dessert — all built around what the land is offering that week.

Service

You'll work the land. You'll feel what that does to you. A day in the Lo'i — an ancient Hawaiʻian farming system restored and tended by the Ahupuaʻa Restoration Initiative. This is the part people don't expect. It's also the part they talk about most.

Culture

Hawaiʻi is not a backdrop. This retreat is designed to serve the island, not consume it. Local economy, local food, local stewardship. You'll leave knowing the difference between visiting a place and actually being in it.

Get outside

go inside

leave feeling “lighter & braver.”

“I arrived with quiet expectations and left with a heart stretched wider than I knew it could be. Somewhere between laughter and tears, strangers became sacred. Chrysalis softened something in me I didn’t even realize was guarded. I miss it every day. What began as a room full of unfamiliar faces became a kind of belonging I didn’t see coming. The week moved through laughter, vulnerability, and something beautifully disarming. I left feeling lighter, braver, and unexpectedly in love with the women beside me.” — Alyssa

Accommodations & Pricing

Five days, three meals a day, facilitated sessions, cultural immersion, and accommodation on a 26-acre regenerative farm in Hawaiʻi. Here's how to make it yours:

Your experience includes

  • Three farm-to-table meals daily — breakfast, lunch, dinner, plus snacks and dessert. Everything sourced within miles.

  • Morning sessions with Vanessa Stone — the heart of the experience. Expect to be surprised by yourself.

  • A day working the Lo'i with local steward Alohilani — the session past guests cite most often when they describe what changed them.

  • Play, nature art, and creative reconnection with Devin Longfellow — lighter, and more necessary than you think.

  • Sunrise hike, stream swims, beach day — weather dependent, always worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most people do. And almost every single one tells us by day three that coming alone was the whole point. When you don't have your person there — the one who already knows your story — you get to show up differently. You get to just be who you are right now, without the shorthand. That said, if you want to come with a friend, book the shared cabin and note it in your reservation. We'll sort the rest.

  • Neither — and both, depending on what you bring. We don't assign meaning or lead you toward any particular belief system. What we do is create the conditions for you to get quiet enough to hear yourself. What you find there is yours.

  • Mornings open with a guided session with Vanessa — expect reflection, honesty, and the occasional surprise. Then a farm-to-table meal together. Afternoons rotate between the Lo'i workday, nature art and play with Devin, movement, and unstructured time to swim, hike, or just be still. Evenings are communal — dinner, conversation, whatever emerges. There's no rigid schedule. That's intentional.

  • You don't have to — but you'll want to. We encourage it strongly because the people who put their phones away consistently describe it as the thing that made the biggest difference. There's something that happens when you stop being reachable. You start actually arriving. That said, we're not taking it from you at the door. You're an adult. We just know from experience what's on the other side of that choice, and we'll gently nudge you toward it.

  • Light, comfortable layers — Hawai'i is warm but mornings and evenings can be cool, especially on the farm. Here's what we'd suggest:

Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty (Lo'i day is muddy and wonderful), swimwear, a light rain jacket, sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots for farm work, sandals or slip-ons for everything else, sunscreen and a hat, a reusable water bottle, a journal if that's your thing, and anything that helps you sleep well.

Leave the cocktail dresses at home. This is the Big Island — beautiful and earthy and real. Dress accordingly.

If you're camping, bring your own tent, sleeping bag, and ground pad. We'll confirm everything you need in your pre-retreat welcome email after you register.

  • If you can walk on uneven ground and don't mind getting a little dirty, you're more than outdoorsy enough. This isn't a survival experience. You're sleeping in a cabin or a tent on a working farm, eating incredible food, and spending time in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The land meets you where you are.

  • Everything except your flights and any personal extras. Five nights accommodation, three farm-to-table meals daily plus snacks and dessert, all facilitated sessions with Vanessa and Devin, the Lo'i workday, hikes, swims, and beach day. The only thing you need to bring is yourself and whatever you'd pack for five days in Hawai'i.

  • Collaborative, honest, and straightforward. We're here to guide the process, bring ideas to the table, and keep things moving.

  • It secures your spot and goes toward your total balance. The remaining balance is due closer to the retreat date — we'll send you details after you register. If something comes up and you can't make it, reach out and we'll work with you.

  • If you've been running on empty and some part of you recognized itself in this page — yes. If you're genuinely unsure, don't talk yourself out of it from a spreadsheet. Send us a message. We'd rather have a real conversation with you than have you spend another six months saying you'll do something like this eventually.
